Official launch of the construction phase!

Steering group and pupils outside Norton Hill SchoolRadstock and Midsomer Norton are joining the long list of UK towns creating a better network of routes for pedestrians and cyclists by joining forces with sustainable transport charity - Sustrans - to create a traffic-free link connecting the two towns. This is part of a UK wide initiative funded by the Big Lottery Fund to improve local networks so more everyday local journeys can be made by foot or by bike.

NRGy Receive their first grant....

This week the Norton Action Group for Cycling and Walking have received their first cheque since the group came into existence. The group was founded to take part in the Sustrans Connect2 project to compete for a single multi-million pound grant from the Big Lottery Fund’s Living Landmarks: The People’s Millions Competition. The Group is one of 97 nationwide projects. Although the Group’s initial aim was to get a cycle/walk path from Radstock to Midsomer Norton along the old Railway it now has further aims to promote cycling, walking and running in the Norton Radstock area.
